Topic: How to download and install objects. (With WinZip)
First is first. You need to go to the place where you want to download the objects from. For this tutorial we will be using this site to download the objects from. So lets click on downloads and then objects. I think I'll choose the Wooden Snack Closet. Most sites use .zip files where they pack the objects in it. If you do not already have WinZip download the trial here. Luckily you will notice how to download the objects on this site since the button stands out and says Download Now. So go ahead and click that. |
Ok, that's how you download a object. It's very simple. It may take a while to download depending on what kind of internet service you have. STEP 1: Once the .zip file is done downloading it will come up with a screen. For this Evaluation / Trial Version there will be 3 buttons to choose from. Click on Use Evaluation Version. (Note if you have a newer version of the trial you may need to wait for the Use Evaluation Version button to be clickable.) |
STEP 2: Now another window should pop up. This will show a list of files that are in the .zip file. (Numbers of files may change) Now make sure you either have none of the files selected (That's how it will be when you open WinZip) or all of them selected, like in the picture below with none selected. (If you are not sure what is selected or not look at the bottom left of the window and it will tell you how many files are selected) |
STEP 3: Now click the extract button and another window will pop up once again. |
STEP 4: This window's name is Extract. Now in that window go to the folder My Documents / Ea Games / The Sims 2 / Downloads. Make sure you have the Downloads folder selected / clicked on. Now just click the Extract button and your done! Wasn't that easy? Now go in the game and look for that object or objects! (Note: On my site it tells you where you can find the object. So that will be useful. If on another site it does not tell you then you might need to take some time and look for it) |
